Distinctive Unit Insignia
A gold color metal and enamel device 1 3/16 inches (3.02 cm) in height consisting of a gold sun of eight rays charged on the lower half with a red triangle with one point down bearing a gold water buffalo head in front silhouette; below the sun two small gold suns each of eight rays and contained by two black annulets riding on the upper edge of a semi-circular brick red scroll bearing the inscription "TOGETHER FOR DEFENSE" in gold.
Brick red and golden yellow are the colors used by the Transportation Corps. The sun symbol as used on the Philippine Presidential Seal is used to indicate award of the Philippine Presidential Unit Citation for service in World War II. The scarlet triangle signifies the Meritorious Unit Commendation received for service in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater and the two small suns within the annulets represent the unit's participation in the campaigns of Luzon and Leyte. The two annulets themselves allude to the unit's motor transport designation and the water buffalo is for service in Vietnam.
The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 23 May 1969.
